Our agents have retrieved what we believe to be "top secret" information regarding changes in climate in the Indian Ocean region. It is believed that the ocean may have played a role in the climate change matter. We believe this information is contained on a CD-ROM disc.
Mission:
Your mission--if you choose to accept it--is to retrieve (get) that information from the disc and report back to the Admiral at headquarters.

- What is meant by the term "monsoons"? Why
would the Ocean Drilling Program be interested in the monsoons?
- Describe the characteristics of monsoons and tell
where one might find them.
- Explain how sediment can tell a person about past
environments. Give a couple of examples of things you can learn about
past
environments from sediment.
- Explain how scientists are able to reconstruct changes
in Earth through time from a series of sedimentary layers. What does
each layer represent?
- Find out how mountains and monsoons are related.
